English Cottages - Anyone Else Do This?

Does anyone else watch Midsomer Murders on the T.V. just to gawk in amazement at all the lovely cottages and English gardens that get featured in it?

I love a good murder mystery, so I always enjoy the story. But, even if I've seen the episode a gazillion times before, I'm inexplicably drawn to gaze upon those whimsical, classical, quirky, and elegant exteriors and interiors you can see as we try and discover 'whodunnit'!

I just love a good thatched roof!

The vibe I get from these homes is so welcoming, inviting, and heartfelt. Even the larger, grander homes..... I just feel an absolutely unmistakeable soul affinity with them.

At some point, I'm going to have to get to England to see if the vibe oozing from them on the T.V. is just as good in real life! If I believed in past lives I'd definitely have to say I came from somewhere in the British Isles in another lifetime.

Any English readers out there? Or cottage dwellers (hi Bobbi - I know you're  in Italy, but you're in a cottage!)?

Does it feel as good as it looks?

  5. Hi Creatissimo - what a fab name! Great to *meet you*!

I think small is good too Bobbi. My place is pretty small... less to clean, and cute!

I love the vine thing to Mel... although if it's ivy it can get a bit out of hand. (Tough stuff to cut back!)

And Uska, so lovely to meet you! I wish I knew what that comment said, it looks so lovely, and if I'm guessing right from a few of the words it says how lovely the images are! Thank you so much for commenting and stopping in. :)

  6. I just popped into your blog, accidentally, but sharing your passion towards Midsomer Murders (also Miss Marple, and Poirot). I'm designing my own white cottage house in Poland and visiting England quite often-just love the country, the crown...The countryside there is very much as in the postcards. I'm not the interior designer so I really wouldn't like to make any mistakes or let my house to be just a poor copy...Hope for the best...

  7. That is so funny. I'm online now just to try to find "images of cottage interiors" from Midsomer Murders. I didn't find any, but I would love to be able to view them more closely. That's one of the main reasons I watched the show. My favorite episodes were: Killings at Badgers Drift and Birds of Prey because I thought those had the cutest cottages. :)

  8. I loved the show and the towns of Midsumer. My dream when I retire is to move to a tiny English Cottage style by the sea.

  9. Hi. I love watching English shows to see the gardens and houses. If you haven't seen the series "Rosemary and Thyme," you should check it out!
