Oh yes... in my fantasy world I have a beautiful home with a garden that includes a few oak trees, (maybe some willows down by a pond), and there are also pine trees around too. None of these are too close to the house, but close enough to feel their majestic and stable presence.
And, when you get down the paved driveway (made using old recycled bricks perhaps), you're faced with a front door something like this one.
This little oasis could be in the middle of a city.... my own private sanctuary to feel cocooned in. Or, a bit further out in the country.
Either way, one day I WILL have a red door!

P.S. There's a give-away coming up soon! I haven't had one for ages and ages. If you're into cushions, stay tuned!!

What A Door!
No words needed really..... love it!
Doors are such symbolic and magical things - a real totem of possibilities.
The image above was also featured differently in my original magical doorways post.... the colours are far more vibrant in this larger pic!

Fearless Fantasy Friday - Wonderful and Whimsical Doors In An Amazing Home...
You know how I love doors with personality.... I think doors are such a magical yet simple symbol of what could be and the places you could go! To me an unusual door embodies adventure, boldness, and a touch of daring.
You can see then, why I just adore the way the owners of this AMAZING home (found on Design Sponge), have given doors such attention throughout their house.
Take this entrance door with small glass panels representing Pantone paint colours....
... how cool is that! Imagine the light streaming through that door and into your home.
Magic.
Not only have they paid attention to doors where you'd usually find them, but they've put them on the ceiling as well. These guys really think outside the box!
And, finally, my favourite. A door with a size that suits everyone. All the doors work, and the whole effect is so playful and just plain fun - don't you think? I bet the two small children who live there love it.
You can see the rest of this happy, unusual, and quirky home over on Design Sponge.
Oh, and did I mention the house resides in Italy amongst beautiful fields and a lush landscape!
On a different note, I hope you all find something lovely to keep you occupied this weekend! I'll be doing a bit of Spring cleaning over here. The weather's warmed up over the last week or so, the Spring bulbs are out, and my Golden Wattle tree in the backyard is covered in wonderful blossom! I'll also be catching up with friends and doing a spot of singing on Sunday night!

Stepping Through The Door....
Happy weekend everyone!
Who knows what doors may open for you this weekend.
Who knows where they might take you if you stepped through.
If your door was leading to unknown, unexpected, and unusual (maybe even scary) places.... would you go?

A Bookshelf That's Also A Door!! Wow!
Until now I 'thought' my ultimate bookshelf fantasy was a lovely bunch of shelves built around a doorway, or around a window.... I've always seriously fawned over those sorts of bookshelves.
But....
Now...
Look at this....
Whoa!
A magical door and a bookcase all in one.
It fans the flames of that yearning I have for 'secret' things. Hidden doors, rooms no-one else knows about, undiscovered treasures, little caves full of fascinations.
This really 'had me at hello'.
Superb.
Linda. xox
P.S: I've had this sitting in my drafts folder for a while, and a few days ago I also spotted it over on Erin's great blog House Of Turquoise as part of a guest post by Coco Cozy! I think this pic will do 'the rounds' as it's so fab.

An Entranceway With A Lot To Like...
There's a lot to like about this welcoming entrance way...
The gorgeous door with its glass panel surround, the star detail in the top corners, the lantern, the massive clock made from wood, the different textures of stone, the reclining lion guarding the front door, the warm colours inviting you inside.
I'd feel happy walking through that door every night.

Every Exit Is An Entrance Somewhere Else.... Magical Doorways
One of my favourite quotes of all time is 'Every exit is an entrance somewhere else' by Tom Stoppard.
It reminds us that when things haven't worked out, and we're leaving someone/something/somewhere behind, there's new opportunities just around the corner even if we don't realise it yet.
And, to me, the humble door is a beautiful and magical symbol of all that 'can' be, if only we step over the thresh-hold with an open mind and an open heart.
Doors can lead anywhere....... escape to any place...... open onto any vista......
And so, I've decided to start a little section in this blog on the simple, yet to me oh so meaningful door!
I'm on the lookout for doors with character. Doors with that magical and ethereal touch. Doors that 'feel' as though they're leading you, pulling you, to somewhere enchanting.
Here's my first door.....
I guess it's no coincidence that the first post I wrote for this blog just under a year ago was titled 'The Door Opens'.
The magic of the door.
Who knows what we may find on the other side, waiting, ready to surprise us!
