Who Else Likes Plates On A Wall?

What a great way to make an unusual, colourful, conversation starting display! Plates are easy to collect, come in all shapes and sizes, and just by grouping them together you've got a personalised and eclectic exhibition of images created around a theme you love.

These 3 images are all from the blog Down and Out Chic, which happens to have a whole category dedicated to plates on a wall! There's over a 100 images showing plates of all sorts, displayed in all sorts of ways.

So, if you don't mind a 'plate on a wall', and you'd like some inspiration aimed at making a magnificent plate display, head on over and take in the scenery!

  1. ME me me!!! I love plates!! unfortunatly i don't have any, but my mom does. In her house there is a wall dedicated to old family plates and copper pots. I'm not starting a collection because as lazy as i am, i know how much work is required to keep a collection like that. it's dusting and polishing all the time. Not for me.
I had a great weekend. it was incredibly hot but a good one.
    Have great day!!

  2. I keep putting plates on the wall and my husband keeps griping about it.

Now I can tell him that others do it too.

    Thanks. :)

  3. Hi Linda,

Thanks for taking the time to comment on my home over at Erin's House of Turquoise. The butterfly cushion is by Company C and is probably still available. Love your site! so nice to find new people to admire...

Lol Mel. :) Your hubby will just have to put up with it!!

Lisa, your home was absolutely beautiful...and thanks so much for the kind words and the info about the cushion! So great to *meet* you. :)

Nerine, does that mean they get thrown around at your place alot? (I just had visions of plates whizzing through the air for some reason when I wrote your comment!) LOL!

  6. Lol, left lying around a lot, kids wizzing past precariously placed plates...It's very likely they have been used as frisbees, I'm sorry to say it wouldn't surprise me at all!! xo

  7. I love this! But how do you attach them to the wall? Do you have to drill a hole in them? I would be afraid they would crack.

  8. Lindsay, you can buy special plate holders that clasp onto the plate from behind and then hook onto a nail in the wall. Most hardware stores have them.

I'm very grateful for your participation.

Until next time may your home be full of lots of love, laughter, and life!
