Take A Look At This Great Horned Owl... He Really 'Had Me At Hello'!

You know something 'has you at hello' when you fall in love with it the moment you first see it.

I don't believe in love at first sight amongst humans, pffft.

But owls... well, that's a whole other story!

My well documented 'thing' for owls went a little overboard for this limited edition giclée print by Renee Treml. Words cannot describe how cute I think he is. How very serious and loveable at the same time.

What a delightful find!

I can see myself having a terribly refined chat with this charming owl. Maybe it's the tea cup he's residing in that leads me to think of him as being a prim and proper gentleman with a witty streak of humour.

Because I have a 'thing' for owls.... they tend to get personalities assigned to them. They become part of my world.... friends.

And I'd definitely invite this one home to live!

What I also found fascinating was the story behind Renee's owl prints.

Here's the end of the story..... 'and eventually my lost owls found themselves nesting in teacups. I also added several other animals that have become dear to me, including the little blue penguin and frogmouth.'

You can find the beginning here.

Cheers,

Linda.

  1. You are such a unique writer. I had to show this to my 17 year old son, who, like you has a thing for owls. His room is full of them...figurines, statues and art work. I will be back to read more.

  2. Hi Susan and thank you so much for your kind words! x

Sounds like your son has a great collection going, I'd love to see it, especially the artwork! I'd love to have more art work featuring owls.

I remember about 20 years ago strolling around an open air art exhibition and there was the most massive, stunning painting of a group of owls sitting in a tree.

It was $700 at the time, an almost unimaginable figure for me way back then. But to this day I wish I'd somehow bought it. (Don't know where the money would've come from - lol).

It would have been my first original piece of art, and the subject really spoke to me. It was simply astounding in its beauty.

Thanks for visiting and sharing this gorgeous owl with your son!

  3. Me again!

Forgot to add that I do have several tiny pieces of art I found buried in a second hand store and managed to get for under $20 each. What a bargain, and I adore them!!!
