Whatever gets your creative/work juices flowing is what's best to have around you. For some, minimalism helps calm their mind and create focus, whilst others need colour and comfort to settle in and let loose on their workload.
I tend to feel the need to be cocooned in my work space so everything else becomes 'stuff' on the outside of my little world, and therefore doesn't get in the way and distract me. To that end I love lots of texture, fabric and richer colours where possible.

Offices are one of my favorite spaces and I love looking at pictures of other people's creative studios and offices. My dream studio would be a mixture of rustic and new...a place to display my growing collection of vintage pieces and all the fun, random things that don't seem to go anywhere else :)

This post is such purrrrfect timing as I was just planning to get to work on my study this week! It's a bit small as it serves as a guest bed room as well, but I intend to make it a multi-functional, cosy, uplifting and very zen place ;-) These photos are fantastic inspiration!

ReplyDeleteyou should see my studio now. It's not that bad, but I have too much material and little storage...I should move into a larger house, but I love my little cottage so much!
