Music is SO important to the happiness of my home. :)
Now most Monday mornings when the working week looms I'll try to post a fave song or some music I'm listening to at the moment to provide some musical motivation.
So my little groovers......... here's today's installment!
*****************************
Today we have one of my all time favourites... Irene Cara with 'What A Feeling' from the movie Flashdance.
I soooo wanted to be the girl in this movie when it came out. I remember singing it in my bedroom (and attempting some of those dance moves). And, many's the time I've belted this one out during a good karaoke session!
Love it!
And, as always when thinking of our 'Musical Must Haves' section...
Ask yourself: 'Do I L.O.V.E music?'
Which leads to: 'Have I got enough of it in my home and in my life?'
Because: Good interior design caters to ALL our senses, not just our eyes.... that's why I call it 'Atmospheric Design' instead!

Such a classic! I have actually never seen the movie - but know the scene (who doesn't!?)
ReplyDeleteAt the time I was a figure skater so you can imagine how everything that was related to dancing was fascinating for me. I couldn see the movie until it was on television a few years later, but on tv the video was on heavy rotation and every magazine featured specials about hte movie and Jennifer Beals' style. I really go back to that time when i see this video or I hear the song. I was crazy about Fame, both the movie and the serial too.

Wow Bobbi, a figure skater!! That is truly amazing. You must have been very strong, flexible and fit to do that..... I imagine it can be pretty gruelling and exhausting. It always amazes me what people have done through-out their lives. Incredible.
ReplyDeleteI think most people recognise that particular scene Meghan, you're right. Here in Aus we had a beer commercial fashioned after it a few years ago with an overweight guy in a leotard taking off the dance moves... very funny!
Yep, very good for karaoke and better to dance around crazy! My man laughed as soon as I pressed play lol
ReplyDeleteSuch an awesome song - it never fails to make me sing along and dance along with it ... it is therefore best listened to in the privacy of my own home! ;)
