The Essence Of Turning A House Into A Home....

When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life. ~ Jean Shinoda Bolen.

I think the above quote gets to the essence of how to turn a house into a true home for the heart and soul.

Oh how I love butterflies. Having them around me in my home brings me joy. I have quite a few fake feathery ones on my walls, and I adore them. They make me feel good, and they remind me of a dearly missed loved one.

Do you have things around you that nourish your soul and bring you joy?

  1. Yes. My collection of cd am lp. You can definitely call me a hoarder of music. My house walls are simple, not many decorations if not some old paintings the belong to my family, but even though I love them, nothing makes me feel at home like my music collection. I have very, very old vinyl records, some of them are also valuable.
I wish I was a little more romantic so that I could add a nice touch like your butterflies, but I am a rock and roll kind of girl...
    have a great Sunday!

  2. Oh, I love that butterfly wall decoration - and how well it looks in that room! You know I too have a thing for butterflies - I was looking for great butterfly pics when I first landed on your blog...
